POLICY STATEMENT
Agathon UAF maintains an “open door” policy for admission of learners. This means that all applicants applying for admission will be accepted if they demonstrate (1) an ability to complete academic work at their chosen program level, (2) an ability to benefit from instruction offered at the Agathon UAF, and (3) compatibility with all Agathon UAF published policies.
Admission to Agathon UAF does not, however, ensure admission to all specific programs offered. Agathon UAF reserves the right to assist the placement of learners in the selection of a program of study based on information gathered through assessment, examination of previous educational achievement, and pre-enrollment advising.
Early college programs require demonstrated academic capability assessed by maintaining a 3.5 GPA in secondary-level study.
Undergraduate programs require high school graduation or equivalent.
Graduate programs require prior graduation from a relevent undergraduate program.
Doctoral programs requires prior graduation from a relevent graduate program.
Admission to specific programs is granted as soon as all admissions procedures for those programs have been completed.
Agathon UAF reserves the right to evaluate requests for admission and to deny admission to applicants when deemed to be in the best interests of the learner and Agathon UAF.
Agathon UAF shall have the right to either establish admission requirements that are higher than this basic policy or to waive the basic admission requirements for learners who will be taking courses not leading to a college diploma or degree.
